Teacher Appreciation Baskets

Good morning! I hope you are enjoying your Saturday morning. My husband’s had World Cup soccer on and he described the horns (blown by fans) perfectly — a mob of angry bees. With the constant din, I wonder if they take a breath!

Today I have for you the baskets I made for the teachers and aides at our kids’ school. Since we had so many to give to, we needed to do something that didn’t require a lot of cash. My son’s class starts at 18 months, so they are required to have more aides. In total, I had 15 baskets to make. Fortunately, the baskets Gina K showcased awhile ago go together very easily. With the recent school Bugaboo Brats Jodie added to the store, my job became even a bit easier. Honestly, the hardest part was picking out my papers!

Here is the impossible shot of them all together:

I had to take pictures yesterday morning before leaving for school. I was rushed, stressed and that doesn’t make for a good photographer.

For my daughter’s teachers, I chose the Bugaboo Brat School Crayon Girl. It was only fitting since my daughter loves to color. With all of the images, I printed them off on PTI STamper’s Select White and colored with Copics. In Word, I added their names underneath.

Each image was cut out with Nesties and mounted on an additional circle “card” of the accent color used on the basket. These little cards did not want to stay closed when I was taking the pictures.

For my son’s teachers, I chose the boy from the Bugaboo Brat School Apple mini set and the ruler from the Bugaboo Brat School Rulers mini set. Using Word, I sat the boy on the ruler.

There were 4 baskets that came from both of the kids, so I used the ruler again with the boy & girl from the apple mini set. I mirrored the girl in PSP and saved it before putting her on the ruler.

On the inside of the card, I included a little verse of thank yous.

Thank you for…
…keeping me sharp as a pencil
…sharing all of the nuggets of knowledge
…and all of the hugs
…and all of the kisses you gave me.

Lastly, I filled the baskets with Hershey Nuggets, which I wrapped in labels printed with the digi papers from the mini sets and the #1 Teacher image from the apple mini set. A bag of Hershey Kisses and a bag of Hugs. I also made one pencil for each basket from a Rolo, a roll of Mentos and a Kiss. I would have liked to do more, but there weren’t enough Mentos in the store and even with chocolate & candy, the cost adds up quickly with 15.

I really loved how these turned out. I wish I would have had them done earlier to take better photos, but we all know how that goes.

  4. Cammy, these baskets are just too cute! Being a teacher myself, I'd love getting this. It's always nice when a parent remembers to thank the teacher…they are so far and few in between.
