A Chocolate Bath

It is hard to believe it is Wednesday already. My mojo has been a bit hit or miss. I blame an external factor. It looks like this.

That would be one of the 3 groundhog babies living under our back deck. They may look all cute, but I’ve seen the parents & grandparents (who are under our deck too) and they aren’t that cute. This twirp was standing on our top step, looking in our 3 season room and pawing at the screen. WAY too close for my comfort! We are in the process of evicting them — they hate the smell of ammonia, so we are soaking t-shirts in ammonia and stuffing them in their holes. Hopefully, after sending them packing, we can get a barrier up that will not allow them to dig under our deck again. UGH!

Today I actually finished a card! One of my favorite images from the newly released Ruby Chocolate collection at Bugaboo Stamps is the bathe in chocolate.

Ruby is so glamorous! When I colored her up, I was thinking of my mom’s best friend’s beautiful home. She has a log cabin and in the lofted bedroom is a brilliant red, claw-foot bathtub. I went with a more muted red, but did give Ruby red hair like my mom’s friend. Using this week’s Our Creative Corner sketch challenge for a layout, I matched Ruby with Scarlet Jewel, Sweet Blush and Basic Grey Bittersweet. I kept things fairly simple, letting the colors & image do the “talking”. The bubbles in the tub get their sparkle from Martha Stewart crystal fine glitter. The feet are painted with Gold Lame Smooch paint. I’d love to be as relaxed (& glamorous!) as Ruby!
