A Birthday ala Stella

Happy Sunday! We are heading off to the Botanical Gardens today. It is typically our Mother’s Day tradition, but due to the weather last weekend, we put it off. We should have a nice day today and I can’t wait to see all of the flowers.

This summer two of my aunts have milestone birthdays — one turns 60 and the other 50. Stella is perfect for these milestones. First up is the card going to my aunt turning 60.

Isn’t she a hoot? What’s one more friggen candle? I haven’t used one of Taylor’s sketches in a long time, so decided to give this week’s a try. Now, I tend to color my images before picking out paper. Sometimes this can be a really bad habit! This time I had to go through quite the search. Ultimately, I went with Gina K Lovely Lavender, PaperTrey Ink Hawaiian Shores and patterned paper from K&Company Sparkly Sweet. I really like my aqua variations!

Stella is colored with Copics and has some requisite glitter for such a milestone. I added Martha Stewart glitter to the frosting, the table cloth and the little swirly-dos (after I added Glossy Accents to her glasses, so she has glittery glasses as well!). To finish it off, I added pretty purple May Arts ribbon — look at the edging closely — there is green stitching along the edge and 3 Aqua Mist buttons. I think Stella will be well-received!

  1. Oh my gosh! Love this!. I, like you, have a habit of coloring the image before choosing the paper. You are so right in that it can take a LONG time. I know it is much easier to choose the paper first, but old habits die hard, LOL

Thank you so much for sharing it this week with everyone at Digital Tuesday Challenge
