Wanna Hang Out?

In addition to the collection of kid cards, I am also donating a “Man’s Survival Card Kit” to my kids’ school. I’ve been wanting to make a set of these for a long time and this was a lot of fun for me.

First up of the 10 cards is the fun “just because” card. I did two “just because” — one fun and the other more serious. For the fun card, I turned to Loads of Fun from There She Goes. I considered the laundry basket and “feeling dirty” sentiment, but my husband thought it might be too risque. So I chose the clothesline image for my card.

I followed this week’s TSG challenge sketch for my layout. One of my favorite colors is PTI’s Lemon Tart, which I added to Orange Zest and Basic Grey Lime Rickey. These definitely gave a fun color palette. The clothesline and sentiment were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I cut it out with a square Nestie and sponged Barely Banana over before removing the die. Some Saddle Stitch grosgrain in Orange Zest worked perfectly with the color scheme and I added just a touch of glitz with Garnet Martha Stewart glitter on the camisole. Because I was giving these to an intended male audience, I added a sentiment on the inside. I couldn’t decide on a sentiment within the set, so I typed up “just you and me… and our dirty laundry.” This definitely turned out fun — I am not an orange person and I love these colors.
