Cheery April Showers

Good Morning! We have a new challenge for you today at Catch the Bug! It is a sketch with a twist. The sketch — provided by our very own multi-talented & multi-tasking Scrappy — is a great one. The twist is to go with an April Showers theme.

Here is the fantastic sketch:

and here is my card:

I really love how some color combos give you a great POP! of color. Basic Black, YoYo Yellow and Pure Poppy definitely does just that. Initially, I thought of doing black and yellow only, but I wasn’t liking the results. I had to use one of the adorable Rainy Day Bears for this challenge. I colored him up with a fun red & yellow combo, then added some Diamond Glaze to his umbrella, the drops of rain and the puddle. The yellow panels are embossed — the large with Spots & Dots and the smaller with Tiny Bubbles. I added in some fun May Arts red polka dot ribbon with a nice big bow and some Candy Dots in the upper left corner. The sentiment is from PTI — I believe Simple Little Things.

  1. Great card, Cammy! Jenny also did a red and yellow card, and I told her it makes me think of home, as my mother's kitchen colors were always red and yellow combined. So cheery looking, and my mother's kitchen was a great place to be! Thanks for the memories.
