Floating on Air

Oh, I am so happy today is Saturday! Not only is it the weekend, but I can FINALLY spill the beans!

I am so excited to announce that I have been asked
to join the Bugaboo Stamps Design Team!!

Okay, I feel so much better after getting that out! Thank you Jodie, Tammy & Rae Ann for giving me this exciting opportunity!

In honor of spilling the beans, I made two cards for today’s color challenge with a twist — cameo coral, kiwi kiss and barely banana and you must use ribbon. Since I didn’t have cameo coral or kiwi kiss, I subbed two PTI colors – Berry Sorbet and Spring Moss.

For my first card, I used the Critter Balloon Elephant — he is so stinkin’ cute!

I colored him with Copics and cut him out with a long rectangle Nestie. Using sketch #38 from Tuesday Morning Sketches for my layout, I added in patterned paper from Basic Grey Porcelain, which added in a touch of green. I popped up the elephant panel on dimensionals and also added on an additional balloon on dimensionals. With the added dimension, I am also submitting this for the Cute Card Thursday challenge #105 to use, you guessed it, dimensions. Berry Sorbet buttons, a tiny satin bow, Liquid Applique for the cloud and Diamond Glaze on the balloon finished things off. If you are like me and impatient with Liquid Applique, make sure you do it before the Diamond Glaze. Diamond Glaze doesn’t react well to the heat gun!

My second card uses the umbrella turtle freebie.

This little guy just makes me smile. Again, he is colored with Copics. I paper pieced his umbrella and added more Diamond Glaze to his hat, boots, raindrop and puddle. I followed The Pink Elephant Challenge #59 sketch — I just loved all of the circles – and embossed a piece of Barely Banana with the Tiny Bubbles Cuttlebug folder. Spring Moss and Berry Sorbet buttons were the perfect circles for this layout. I added in some Spring Moss satin ribbon and then tied a know of Berry Sorbet and yellow sheer polka dot May Arts ribbon.

  1. Cammy–just read the post about your daughter with diabetes. I too raised a daughter with Type I diabetes (diagnosed when she was 11–she is now 42, and the mother of two children 14 and 19). She has done very well!
