Pastel Easter Eggs

We have such a gorgeous day here — really a treat for March weather. It is so nice we get to enjoy lunch on the patio and typing up a blog post on the patio. 🙂 Love wireless internet!

I had fun combining a few challenges with a fun Easter card & box combo. This week’s Tuesday Morning Sketch is actually not a sketch, but anything but a card. The OCC sketch (#7) for this week was a fun one, so I decided to create a little set and the OCC challenge was to Think Easter, so I ended up with a 3 for 1.

Oh, how those pastel colors all together make me happy! For the card, I decided to make a long card. I inked up my There She Goes Hunny Bunnies set for the first time — it is such a cute set and I was in need of a cute Easter set. I used the basket and 3 of the egg images.

I cut strips of Orchid Opulence, Bashful Blue, Green Galore, Barely Banana and Pretty in Pink and taped them down on a piece of white cardstock. I then ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder twice. I topped that with a strip of Green Galore and some pretty pastel rainbow ribbon from Michaels. The sentiment is punched out with my new favorite punch combo of Word Window and Modern Tag. I finished off with some Kaisercraft pearls on the edges of the sentiment and the corners of the card. Finally, some Eucalyptus Stickles on the bow of the basket.

For my box, I used a fantastic tutorial/template on SCS for an Easter Egg Box. This came together so easily and it is such a great idea.

I used my egg Nesties to cut out a few tiny eggs for decoration. I added a bit more ribbon and topped it with another basket image. Since I don’t have a 3/4″ circle punch, I used the smallest circle Nestie to cut out the holes for the eggs. So cute!
