The sun was out today and it was such a beautiful spring day. We so desperately needed the sun after the ridiculous soaking we had over the weekend. We should have a few more days of sun yet this week.
This week’s challenge on the Catch the Bug Challenge blog is a sketch challenge and since I love a good sketch, I decided to play along. If interested, check it out — they will pick 3 random winners for free digis from Bugaboo!
After our soggy & blah weekend, this was the perfect amount of bright. I used the Beach Frog – beach toys image and paired him with some fun, bright colors. After coloring him with Copics, I added some Martha Stewart Florentine gold glitter for the sand. I embossed the YoYo Yellow with the Spots & Dots Cuttlebug folder. I tried my hand at creating a ribbon ruffle for the first time. I used glue dots to hold down my ruffles — if I get brave some day, maybe I’ll try to actually sew it, but I will need to be very brave! A trio of buttons and a computer generated sentiment finished it off. Toad-ally not my usual color combo, but he makes me smile!
