Happy Friday! Unfortunately, we are ending a really nice week of weather with BLAH weather. It is supposed to rain the entire weekend, which is really a bummer since our town’s St. Patrick’s Day parade is on Sunday. It is a pretty big deal and we look forward to it each year. I love listening to all of the bagpipes & drums. Hopefully, the rain will be through or light so we can still go.
When I bought my Critter Block images, I didn’t have yesterday’s card in mind. My thoughts went to my kids and something fun. I haven’t introduced my daughter to the Memory game yet, but I thought these would make a really cute set and be the perfect way to start her out.
Introducing Ainsley & Carter’s Memory Game:
I used 4×4 chipboard squares and cut them with the largest Labels 1 die. I liked the idea of having a non-square shape to them. When I did this, I wasn’t thinking about a way to store them and when I was done, this was perfect because they fit into a 4×4 box.
Using each critter, I printed out two copies of each and colored them. I picked out some more Animal Crackers paper from DCWV and adhered it to the chipboard. Because I wanted them to lie evenly, I kept them free of embellishments. On the top side of the card, I attached a label that I printed from Word. This was a very simple & fun project, but it was a bit time consuming between the coloring, cutting and embossing. I can’t wait to play with my daughter.
The box was very simple — two sheets of 12×12 Chocolate Chip. I cut the lid sides down a bit and added some strips of the DCWV patterns. It’s the perfect storage for the cards.
