Good Morning! Happy Valentine’s Day! Do you have romantic plans for the day? We do not — I do know my husband wants to take our daughter to get me a gift. She is so excited about it, she blurted it out yesterday in the car. I’m having selective memory & difficulty hearing what she said. 🙂
For my second day of my DCRU showcase, I have a Valentine’s tradition for me. After seeing these adorable mailboxes on SCS, I knew I had to have some and stocked up as soon as I saw them the next year (and the next, lol). I’ve made one each year since as a gift and they are always a hit.
Using paper from the EK Success Chocolate line, I covered a white mailbox in super soft & pretty Toile. The color of this paper is so pretty — not too pink and not too rosey. The ends are covered with Stripes paper. I used my heart Nestabilities to cut out some heart decorations, which I just slightly curled. I added a small button from a pack of Basic Grey buttons to the center. The color of this paper matches the Basic Grey Rose/Blush half pearls perfectly, which I added in each corner.
See how pretty that paper is? I added another half pearl to the bolt that holds the flag on the mailbox. I covered the actual flag with more hearts and added 3 small Prima flowers to the “arm”. When I was working on this, my daughter asked me what kind of card I was making. I told her I couldn’t say yet and she got all excited “It’s for me!”, giggled and ran off. She will love this mailbox, especially when she sees what is inside:
I know she’ll love all of the Hugs & Kisses.
