Comforting Sympathy

I knew my MOJO was going to poop out sooner or later. Apparently, it needed a little break over the weekend. Hopefully, it will have been enough of a break to re-energize. Ironically, yesterday was my one-year blogoversary. My first post had no craftiness included, just me jumping in to the crafty blog world. For those of you visiting & reading, thank you for joining me!

I needed a sympathy card for a SCS friend who lost her infant daughter the day after Christmas. Sympathy cards are never easy to make and one for a baby is even worse. I hope that sweet little baby is resting peacefully — she went through so much in her short 6 months.

Since sympathy cards can be tough and given that I don’t have a stash on hand, I tend to fall back on a tried & true layout and two sets. You may recognize this layout from my Sympathy Duo I posted back in December. I used PaperTrey Ink’s Plum Pudding and Lavender Moon since purple is my friend’s favorite color. I’m not sure why this appears so dark — I so need to make a light box! The image is from PaperTrey Ink’s With Sympathy set. I stamped the flowers in Memento Lulu Lavender and added a dot of Moonlight Smooch to each center. I also stamped a pair of butterflies, each with a pair of Kaisercraft pearls at their center.

Inside I stamped one of the sentiments from With Sympathy with 4 more butterflies. Again, I added pearls to the butterflies. Hopefully, this will bring a bit of comfort to my friend and her family.
