The weather outside is a bit frightful. We are in the middle of a snow storm and supposedly will end up with 6-12 inches. Being from Wisconsin originally, this isn’t major in my eyes, but it is for New Jersey. The wind is pretty nasty though and it is quite cold. The kids went out to play in it for a bit — had a blast, but came in all red faced. It will be interesting to see what we wake up with.
A few months ago, when Spellbinders was releasing their new holiday dies, I was in search of good prices for them. I became a fan on Facebook and saw a post by someone who had them in stock. I clicked and wound up at Die Cuts R Us. Claudia has AMAZING prices on her Spellbinders (and lots of other things), plus she offers TOP NOTCH customer service. The service I received from her sold me on being a repeat customer.
The DCRU design team has a challenge each week and I am happy to finally play along with them. The challenge this week is “naughty or nice”, interpretation being up to you.
For my card, I inked up The Greeting Farm’s Twinkle Tots Madelynn for the first time. This was my first time using a TGF stamp and I am very impressed by the quality of the stamped image. Madelynn is so crisp and perfect for coloring. Since I had done a Valentine’s Day card earlier today, I was in a red & pink mode. The patterned paper is from Me & My Big Ideas Oh What Fun pack and it is certainly fun paper — it is flocked. I thought this would make a great non-traditional Christmas card with a hint of naughty & nice.
Madelynn is colored with Copics and cut out with Nesties. I added some Pixie Dust Shimmerz Blingz to the flower on her hat, as well as some Bubblegum Shimmerz to her buttons & heart. After I colored in her shoes, I used my Sakura Gelly Roll white pen to add in some stitching highlights on them. Since I didn’t have a sentiment to go wth the naughty or nice theme, I typed up “I’ve been good…REALLY!” on the computer. After printing it out, I punched out the first part with my large SU oval punch and the ….REALLY! with the small oval. I punched out an additional two ovals in Pure Poppy. A pretty bow of polka-dotted May Arts ribbon finished off the card.
