A Tempting Wish

TGIF!! I am so happy it is Friday and I am on the countdown until we pick up my husband at the train station. We go each night and the kids scream “Daddy” at the top of their lungs. They love it and it is so stinkin’ cute. Hopefully, this weekend will bring lots of productiveness for us — on many fronts — leaf blowing, crafting, shopping.

I made this card last month for a wonderful new friend, Melissa. Make a Wish Sophia is just adorable — I love her party dress. Melissa’s favorite color is blue, so I wanted to use some fun colors. Based on my (limited) Copic choices, I went with Tempting Turquoise, Chocolate Chip and Soft Sky. I love the pop of the turquoise here.

Sophia is colored with Copics. I used some Martha Stewart glitter to accent her dress and her party hat, as well as Dazzling Diamonds on her hat. She is outlined and her air flow is outlined with a Sakura Stardust Clear pen. It is hard to tell from the photo, but her shoes have a bit of Diamond Glaze on them for a patent effect.

The Tempting Turquoise is embossed with Swiss Dots. I wanted to use the ribbon like you would on a gift, so I crossed two pieces on the turquoise before adhering it to the chocolate. The yummy May Arts polka dot ribbon is tied in to a double bow with a button accent. I used embroidery floss to complete the button. I was thrilled with the outcome of the bow.
