Lauren’s 17th Birthday

Another unplanned blogging absence for me. Initially we were just busy and now we are dealing with illnesses. Hopefully things will even out a bit around here.

Last Sunday one of our babysitters celebrated her 17th birthday. I used one of the fabulous templates from Lauren Meader’s My Timeless Templates.

The Cash or Charge Collection is an awesome set of gift card holder templates. I used the template that resembles a purse since I wanted this to be fun & girly. If you have never worked with one of Lauren’s templates, I encourage you to do so. There are even two free versions on PTI’s site that you can try out.

I paired Chocolate Chip with Hibiscus Burst and accented that with Raspberry Fizz. I embossed the Hibiscus Burst with probably my favorite Cuttlebug folder – Swiss Dots. I stamped 3 small cupcakes from PTI’s 2009 anniversary set, Everday Classics. Raspberry Fizz satin ribbon is used to make a package bow.

Inside I mounted another piece of Hibiscus Burst and punched two slots to hold the gift card. To add a bit of dazzle, I added some pink rhinestones from Michaels’ dollar bins. (We didn’t actually give her a LL Bean card — it was the only one I had on hand.)

This was such a quick and easy project. The templates are fantastic products and really easy to work with. I know I’ll be using this one again and again.
