It’s a two post day! (ETA: I changed the picture — hopefully it is a bit better.) I have wanted to play along with a Limelight Papercrafts challenge for awhile now and always seem to forget or not have the time. Tonight I found a few free minutes and was able to play. The challenge was a sketch challenge with a twist to use butterflies.
I inked up my Gina K Take Flight set for the first time *gasp*, using Memento Rich Cocoa. I knew I wanted to use glitter with this instead of coloring. I also reached for my Basic Grey Indian Summer, which is oh so yummy! Before I glittered up the butterfly, I cut and embossed it with Labels 8. I picked out 3 colors of Martha Stewart glitter — copper, kunzite and brownstone. Using my Quickie Glue Pen, I went through and colored in my butterfly.
Since I matched up my Indian Summer with Chocolate Chip and Purely Pomegranate, I needed something for an embellishment. I didn’t have any PP ribbon, so I used my PP reinker to dye some white organdy ribbon. It was my first time doing this and it worked like a champ — except for my PP fingertips and my kids thinking there was something wrong with my hands. LOL! I added the ribbon with a double bow and a rhinestone brad center.
It was a quick and beautiful result!
