PWC73 Navy, Red & Banana Thank You

Happy Monday! It was happy here for the mere fact that the sun was out all day and it wasn’t the nasty weather of this past weekend.

Could those two be any cuter? It isn’t often that I get to pair Sophia & Cooper together on the same card. Sophia & Cooper remind me of my children and I needed a thank you card for their teachers, so this worked perfectly. This week’s Paper Pretties challenge was a color challenge issued by Christi. Christi gave us Night of Navy, Ruby Red and Barely Banana. I didn’t have any Night of Navy, so I went with Not Quite Navy. This was a really cute combo.

I positioned Off to School Sophia and Look Out World Cooper on my acrylic block so that Cooper would be walking behind Sophia. I colored them with Copics and then paper pieced Sophia’s dress and Cooper’s shirt. The paper is from a DCWV adhesive mat stack. If you do paper piecing, I HIGHLY recommend the adhesive paper. Holy Cow! This was so much easier and pleasant than trying to get little pieces of adhesive on little pieces of paper. I think I may keep that stack of paper for paper piecing only.

The layout is this week’s sketch from 2 Red Bananas. I cut out my image using Nestabilities Labels 7. I added two Cuttlebugged panels in Swiss Dots and Spots & Dots. I used the Thank You from Giving Thanks Sophia on the Swiss Dots panel and then added buttons in red & blue. After all was said and done, I added some Diamond Glaze to their lunchboxes (along with their initials) and Sophia’s shoes.
