Today is our 5th anniversary. It is hard to believe 5 years have passed already — they went by so quickly. We had hoped to spend a night away in NYC to celebrate, but decided to just go to a nice dinner. Given the wrath Mother Nature is unleashing on the East Coast, I’m glad we are not going with our plans to spend the night in NYC. Mother Nature wasn’t very nice to us on our wedding day either — she must not like October 16th. LOL!
Since I usually go for the sappy, mushy, romantic cards, I decided to change things up a bit this year and go with a funner, dare I say racier card.
I had been wanting Maid For You from My Favorite Things since they released it. I finally picked it up a few weeks ago and decided it would make the perfect anniversary card. First, I stamped the image on twice Select White and then again on a piece of Basic Grey Sultry paper. I colored in my main images using Copics and also colored a second WTG for cutting out. Using the Sultry paper, I paper pieced the wall paper. For the floor, I used a brown fine point Sharpie and a ruler to draw in the woodwork. I love the way that looks!
After cutting out the second WTG, I freehanded her fishnet stockings and added some Martha Stewart Crystal micro beads to the hem of her skirt. I popped her up on dimensionals and laid her over the original image. Another piece of Basic Grey Sultry provided the background with some May Arts polka dot ribbon. Inside I stamped “with love from your desperate housewife.” I think my husband will get a kick out of it!
