WOW! I can’t believe it has almost been two weeks since I posted last. I certainly wasn’t planning that absence and I can’t even tell you where all that time went. But I do have lots to share over the coming days — I was able to participate in a few World Card Making Day challenges. I hope you’ll stop by again!
Jana issued the first Paper Pretties challenge for WCMD and it was a color challenge. We were to use a light pink, medium pink, taupe and black. I have to say the taupe tripped me up a bit. The most taupe-y color I had was Creamy Caramel and I just couldn’t get that going. I dug through my stash of designer paper and came up on some Berry Bliss (SU) that worked quite well. Since the taupe tripped me up, I wasn’t working on this until today and the Mojo Monday sketch fit this very well. I rarely get a Mojo Monday sketch done in the same week, much less the same day, so this is unusual.
Sophia Ballerina is one of my favorite images and a color challenge using pinks just screams to be used with this particular Sophia. I colored her with Copics and then used Pink Shimmerz for her skirt and Angel Wings Shimmerz on her tights. When I went searching for embellishments, I found the yummy ruffle ribbon. This ribbon is so fun — it is very springy & elastic-y. It matches the Regal Rose & Pretty in Pink perfectly. The springiness does make tying a bow a bit challenging, but it is quite fun! Some Kaisercraft pink pearls were the final touch for this card. The circle mat with Sophia is popped up on doubled-up dimensionals. I needed some additional height to get over the top of the ribbon.
