When I first saw Story Time Sophia, I was thrilled. I love to read. I remember growing up and making almost daily trips to the library during the summer. We lived close enough for me to walk and the librarian new me. One of my favorite pictures from my childhood is of me sitting behind our bar (at home — it was the ’70s), feet up on the counter, reading a book. Unfortunately, now I don’t have nearly enough time to read like I used to.
Anyway, Paper Pretties recently made a change to the weekly challenges. Instead of having a challenge for the design team and another for the customers, they combined them. Now, the Pretties girls and fans (like me) will be doing the same challenge. What is an even bigger perk is the chance to win a $15 gift certificate to the Paper Pretties store! To kick things off, Danielle made up a fantastic sketch, as usual.
I bought a Scrap Pad to go from K & Company a while back and finally pulled it out for this card. The papers are from the Peabody collection. I paired the patterned paper with Sweet Blush from PTI and Close to Cocoa. I find these colors to be so soothing. Sophia is colored with Copics — I keep hinting to my husband that I really need another box of Copics. I am attending a Copics coloring class at a LSS tomorrow night and I can’t wait to get some tips on using them. I stamped Sophia again and cut her out to create a mask and then sponged ‘carpet’ around her in Pallette Toile Pink.
Inside I added a mat of Sweet Blush & white with the sentiment. (Please excuse my inky finger.)
