Tanqueray & Tonic

The past three months I have been hosting a “Not-So-Secret” Sister swap on SCS. I had the pleasure of sending to Wendy (SayStampsPlease). One fun little fact is that both Wendy & I enjoy a Tanqueray & Tonic as our favorite drink. I like to do themes for my packages, so for this last month, I based her package off of a T&T.

In July’s SCS Fan Club, I saw this great little chipboard drink recipe book by debdeb. (Note: The photo will only be viewable if you are a Fan Club member on SCS.) I made up “Wendy’s Wicked Whistle Wetters” with recipes using gin as the main ingredient.

The paper is from American Crafts. The colors are so fun and retro.

I have a fantastic Studio G cocktail themed set and it worked perfectly for this project.
I also included an altered candy jar, filled with some favorite sugar-free candies for Wendy. This sentiment from the PaperTrey Ink Heart Prints Sentiments set was perfect for the top.

Of course, no package would be complete without a card. I was fortunate enough to borrow the Tart & Tangy set from my friend Melissa (scungilli), which was the perfect set for this package. I kept the layout to be clean & simple. I printed the sentiments from the computer — inside it reads “…make a Tanqueray & Tonic!”

Here is a group shot of the non-stamping related items in Wendy’s package. The little cocktail shaker & ice cubes were Target $ Spot finds. I can also attest to the difficulty in finding the “airplane” size bottle of Tanqueray. My husband and I went to 6 liquor stores between NJ & NYC before finding that size at the 7th.

This was such a fun package to put together. Of course, there were a handful of items that actually related to stamping, but also tied in to cocktails that I included — a martini glass punch, another Studio G cocktails set and a Just Rite set (Girls Time).

Our group of girls has had a lot of fun together and the majority of us will likely stick together for future chatting & swaps. We are even in the works of putting a get-together together for next year. I can’t imagine how much fun we will have!
