Bubbly Bath Set

Last week Suzanne Dean posted on her blog a really cute bath gift set. This was so cute and I put it in the back of my mind. Sunday I was in Target and the dollar spot had just been restocked. It was like hitting the jackpot. I picked up 2 sets of bath products — one in Strawberry Sangria and one in Mango Colada. I knew they would come in handy.

It was a good thing that I picked them up because I had an immediate use for them. Two of the sweetest ladies were flaked on by their Secret Sister’s in the last month of the last swap. I managed to remember Suzanne’s post and studied it for a bit. I was able to come up with measurements to make packaging of my own. You have no idea how excited I was that I, the measurement-challenged person, was able to get this to work. This is made from one piece of 12×12 cardstock. It is 6 inches wide. I scored on the 12″ side at 1 1/2, 7 1/2 and 8 1/2. After I put it together, I trimmed down the top piece.

I made up the front panel using the MFT classic set Time for the Bubbly. This was my first time paper piecing, which wasn’t as daunting as I thought it would be. The dp is actually Making Memories printed acetate from the Sabrina line. It worked really well.

This turned out really well and hopefully the recipients will like them. Next time around, I might try a window like Suzanne had and I’d like to work the top a bit differently. All in all, who could ask for something better for under $5?
